I led a national scan, with an emphasis on British Columbia, covering 166 programmes and services. The work examined how mentorship supports newcomers and how programmes are designed, delivered and evaluated.
The context
IEC-BC needed an updated view of employment-focused mentorship after more than a decade of change in the sector, to inform MentorConnect’s positioning and future direction.
My contribution
- Led research across Canadian mentorship and related newcomer-support services, with a focus on British Columbia.
- Compared audiences, objectives, programme structures, resources, evaluation and promising practices.
- Translated findings into an executive summary and recommendations for programme design, delivery and evaluation.
Work produced
A full scan report, programme dataset, executive summary and best-practice guidance. The scan informed recommendations for MentorConnect’s programme design, delivery and evaluation.
